Novice Cake Decorators
If you are having difficulty separating the print image from the plastic backing sheet with your fingers,
* Use a thin knife and gently insert between the backing sheet and the image print sheet, move the knife delicately between the sheets until they become separated.
If this process fails to separate the two sheets......
* Another avenue is to apply heat ...
The sheet maybe carefully heated either in a low temperature oven or by using a hairdryer to gently heat the paper. If either of these options are used care must be taken not to burn the picture, excessive heat may cause the picture to become brittle therefore extreme caution must be taken if using either of these heat options.
* Practice first! if possible it’s a good idea to cut off an unwanted piece to experiment before tackling the job using the image print sheet.

If you are having difficulty separating the Cut image from the plastic backing sheet with your fingers,
* Use a thin knife and gently insert between the backing sheet and the image
print sheet, move the knife delicately between the sheets until they become
separated. If this process fails to separate the two sheets or the cut design is
too fragile......
* place the printed sheet in the freezer for 30 to 90 seconds. Remove it from freezer, immediately it should ‘pop off’ the backing sheet and you can position it on the cake. This must be done immediately after removing from the freezer or it will become soft and start to crumble. You can place the image back in the freezer if need be. The imageshould pop off the backing sheet or peel with greater ease.
* Another avenue is to apply heat ...
The sheet maybe carefully heated either in a low temperature oven or by using a hairdryer to gently heat the paper.
With any of these options care must be taken not to damage the picture, waiting too long after removing from the freezer may result in the image crumbling whilst excessive heat may cause the picture to become brittle! Extreme caution must be taken if using any of these options.
